You can be a hygiene champion!
Hygiene Champions
Hygiene Champions is Essentials First’s family of youth programs. This includes both summer and school-year programs including education and experience around Media, Advocacy, Community Service, and Non-Profit Development.
Coming up: Join the Essentials First Hygiene Champions School-Year Program, beginning with orientation on 9/10 and convening weekly on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 throughout the school-year
Together we will explore curriculum units on media, advocacy, direct service, and non-profit development. This program is open to all students ages 11 to 22.
Hygiene Champions will develop leadership experience and professional skills through hands on opportunities in these areas, contribute to their community, and earn volunteer hours.
Ready to join? RSVP for orientation here.
But WHY?
1 in 7 kids in Washington don’t have reliable access to hygiene essentials. That means at least 3 kids in the average classroom can’t count on having what they need at home for clean bodies, clothes, or dishes. Essentials First is a youth-founded and BIPOC-led 501(c)3 non-profit providing and advocating for essential hygiene access for anyone who needs it.
Community support directly improves day-to-day quality of life for refugee and immigrant, unhoused, elderly, low income, and other community members impacted by social and economic isolation, empowering dignity and strengthening our communities.
