Celebrating the Tacoma Giving Machine Community

Recently, Essentials First had the pleasure of welcoming members of the Giving Machine team from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for a special visit. During the gathering, they presented our team with a commemorative statue and a certificate recognizing the funds raised for Essentials First through the South Hill Giving Machine during the last holiday season.

The Giving Machine is a unique program that allows community members to donate tangible items—like food, hygiene supplies, and other essentials—to nonprofit organizations serving people in need. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who chose Essentials First at the Tacoma Giving Machine, even more families across Washington will have access to the hygiene products they need to stay healthy and show up for work, school, and daily life with dignity.

We are deeply grateful to the Giving Machine volunteers and the Tacoma and Kent teams for their partnership and for taking the time to celebrate this impact with us in person. And to every person who made a donation through the Giving Machine last holiday season: thank you for helping ensure that basic necessities reach the communities who need them most. 💙
