This Ramadan, dignity begins with the essentials

For thousands of families across King County, many of them refugees and immigrants, basic hygiene essentials remain out of reach. Items like soap, toothpaste, laundry detergent, and menstrual products are critical to health, employment, school participation, and a sense of belonging—yet they are often unaffordable.

Many of the families we serve have resettled in Washington after fleeing conflict, persecution, or economic instability. As they rebuild their lives in a new country, limited access to hygiene and food can deepen existing challenges.

At Essentials First, we partner with families to meet urgent needs while building pathways toward long-term stability. Through hygiene distribution, food support, job skills training, youth leadership, and policy advocacy, we work to ensure families have what they need not just to survive—but to move forward with dignity.

Your support provides essential hygiene kits, nourishing food, and opportunities for stability for families rebuilding their lives across King County.
